My [now] very happy client had misplaced the fork to the hand made, family heirloom, salad set. Using the spoon as a guide, I created a new fork to match in style and age. Painting was done by Elizabeth Hollinger, a nearby artist.

These are two gifts; one a salad set to be given as a wedding present, made of apple wood. The other, a unique thank you gift made from Russian olive wood. The orange was in my lunch.

Apple wood. One of the most attractive woods with a very showy grain - displaying here the heart wood and sap wood. This would sparkle in a salad bowl.

Another nice redheart spoon, with a bit of a curve to it. When making these I go with the grain, so that the strength of the wood is used to a purpose.
   Be a nice hand me down someday, meanwhile we cook with it to instill the memories it will bring.

Lilac besides being a harbinger of Spring, is a very hard wood. Makes excellent utensils. Give your kid a whack with this spoon and he'll eat his spinach!

Now this one is truly unique. Made from lilac, it came from a piece of wood that had a crack in it, but was too nice to let go. As a result we have the Half Spoon. For those who want a half spoonful!
