The risers are slanted 10 deg from the vertical. The recessed portion of the posts had to be hand crafted on site to assure they were in the correct place. Note too the curved return on the bottom step. This is a part of a cone which had to be hand carved on site because of the 10 degree slant of the risers. Interior detail the way it's supposed to be done.
