This secretary, like all my cabinets and chests are built with the utmost care and exactitude using traditional techniques. Doors are made with mortise and tenon joints. Shelves are rebated into the sides. The cabinet is made of local pine, but the slant top is of cherry to take the hard use.

  The drawer joins are dove-tailed, making the whole a sturdy piece that will last generations.
