Walnut Bar Top
The customer was clear – one piece walnut bar top.
So I went to my sources and Mother Nature in Pennsylvania and had a rough slab - 2” thick, 10 feet long, from 26” to 36” wide, with beautiful crotch grain, and knots - shipped raw to my New Hampshire workshop.
I crafted one straight edge and one live edge with the bark removed. The seating side is supported with corbels. The bar is scribed to the wall on one end. The joint between the bartop and cabinets was trimmed with custom walnut bed mold.
Makes a handsome transition from kitchen to the living room.
